Fr. Stasker's life as a priest began as a seminary teacher, then administrator and eventually college president. When he returned to the Diocese of Grand Rapids he became a pastor and two years ago was appointed by Bishop Walter Hurley to be pastor/president of the Catholic Secondary Schools. Fr. Stasker is also the current pastor of the Basilica of St. Adalbert in Grand Rapids. He welcomed the return to the teaching world, especially on the high school level as it opened up the opportunity for him to be involved not only in the education but also the formation of high school students as they begin to face the real world. The two high schools are aimed at excellence in education within the Catholic tradition and values as we challenge the world and ourselves with the gospel. The high schools provide him with no better way to reach into the future in a positive and lasting way on those two levels. |
